Taichung's century-old historic site, "Principle Exercise Field", was built in Showa 12 during the Japanese occupation period. It was a martial arts building for prison officers and police officers to practice martial arts on a daily basis . After active restoration, it re-appeared as the "Daohe Six Arts Cultural Center" , which not only revitalized the local historical sites, but also became one of the popular tourist attractions for domestic and foreign tourists to visit Taichung.

Weihe Building (Main Building)
Weihe Hall is the main building of Taichung Penitentiary's performance field. The building is constructed in a symmetrical pattern. The form is a typical performance field during the Japanese occupation period. Large ghost tiles and Bofeng panels are decorated. During the Japanese Occupation, it was a training ground for prison officers and police officers to practice kendo and judo , and now it is used as a venue for kendo promotion courses.

Learning Center (Auxiliary Building)
The Chuanxiu Hall was a dormitory for officials during the Japanese occupation period . Today, it is a place to hold promotional courses such as archery, calligraphy, and paper art, as well as various art and cultural exhibitions.
There are wooden cards hanging by the window outside the training hall, carrying the wishes of many people.

Xinxingguan (Auxiliary Building)
Xinxingkan is a club during the Japanese occupation period. It is a quiet and elegant traditional Japanese garden building. At present, it is mainly used for teaching and performance activities such as tea ceremony, guqin, Go, and flower art.
Theater under the tree
The old banyan tree has suffered from the disaster of Zhurong in the past, and the roots of the banyan tree are still preserved.
In the square under the big tree, there will be street performers performing here every holiday, which is very lively.
