How to check the crowdedness of the carriage?


1. Enter the "Taipei MRT GO" APP

Click " News " under " Home ".



2. Query train dynamic information

Select the MRT system route from the top. Currently, "Bannan Line, Wenhu Line, Tamsui Xinyi Line, Songshan Xindian Line, Zhonghe Xinlu Line" can be inquired.



3. Check the crowdedness of the carriage

I am currently located at Taipei Main Station, and I want to take the Bannan Line to Nangang Exhibition Hall, so I have to select " Pannan Line BL " on the MRT system route to check the upcoming train. The current crowd at " Ximen Station ", Allows me to decide in advance which car to wait in .




There are four levels of congestion in the carriages:

"Green" stands for comfort and unimpeded movement in the cabin
"Yellow" means ordinary, easy to move in the car
"Orange" represents slightly more people, and you need to turn sideways to move in the car
"Red" means that there are many people and it is difficult to move in the car
Red and orange usually appear during rush hour, while green and yellow are more common during off-peak hours.

How to measure the passenger weight of the carriage?

The real-time notification function of Beijie's carriage congestion is actually through a pressure sensor about 5.7 cm below the train to calculate the pressure value of the carriage load, and then convert it into the carriage congestion.




There are 849 carriages on the Beijie high-capacity electric train, and 304 carriages on the medium-capacity Wenhu Line. A total of 1,457 force sensors are installed in the whole system, which can send back congestion information when the train leaves the station and closes the door.

Beijie said that at the current estimate of 60 kilograms per person, the car shows that the green light is less than 90 people, the yellow light is about 90 to 160 people, the orange light is 160 to 270 people, and the red light is more than 270 people; the test is accurate 90%, A small number of real-time information will be sent back slowly or fail due to poor network signal.

At present, Beijie Line 5 has the function of real-time notification of congestion. I think this function is very useful, because we can't see the train that is about to enter the station first, and the crowd situation of each car. Usually, we will wait in the car closest to the entrance and exit. However, there are often the most people. If we can know the crowds of other cars in advance, we can wait in the waiting platform with fewer people to avoid crowding and evacuate the number of passengers.

However, if it is during the peak hours of commuting, it should be difficult to find the "green light" car, but you can still use this function to find a relatively uncongested " orange light " car, which can avoid being unable to get on the train and have a better chance . Find a seat, it is recommended that commuters can use this feature!
