If you are planning to travel to Europe, through this article, I will introduce seven European shared bicycle brands,

What is a shared bicycle?Bike sharing is a short-distance rental bicycle rental service. A company provides multiple bicycle stations for people to borrow and return.

Users can complete the rental process through the mobile APP or website, use the bicycle within the required time, and then return it to any designated station. Sharing bicycles is not only convenient and environmentally friendly, but also can improve the efficiency of urban traffic. It is one of the important ways of modern urban traffic.

The quickest way to rent a bike

In Europe, shared bicycles provide QR codes for users to scan, and then rent bicycles through the official APP, which is not only convenient to use, but also saves rental time.

When scanning the QR code , you may encounter a dark environment or rainy day. After my actual measurement, the built-in camera scan is prone to failure. I use this Tahoe QR  code  App, which not only supports the flashlight function, allowing you to easily decode in dark environments, but also quickly decode even in rainy days, improving the success rate of scanning, and allowing me to easily rent bicycles .

If you are a foreigner and need to use a local door number when renting a bicycle, you can choose to use an ESIM card (but first confirm whether the plan includes a door number), or buy a SIM card locally.

What is an ESIM card?An ESIM card is a SIM card built into a mobile device. It does not need to be physically inserted into the mobile device, but is connected through a wireless network. Using an ESIM card can save the problem of card replacement and damage to the card slot, and you can also use the same ESIM card in multiple countries, which is convenient for travelers.

💡Some ESIM cards will include a set of local phone numbers. It is very important to confirm whether the plan includes the phone number!
If you don't have an ESIM card, you can also go to the local mobile phone network operator, telecom store, and supermarket to buy a SIM card.
Common brands are: Vodafone (one of the largest communication companies in Europe), Orange, Three
O2.

Actual rental experience

I rented a shared bicycle of the TIER brand in Munich, Germany. They only provide electric vehicles, and the body uses a bright Tiffany green color scheme, which is very eye-catching. Moreover, it is very considerate that they provide a mobile phone wireless charging function on the bicycle, so that I can charge it very conveniently.

After I scanned the QR code on the bike, it will jump to the Google Play download page after decoding. If you want to rent a bike, downloading the official app is necessary.

I have downloaded the official app. When renting a bicycle for the first time, you need to bind your email, then enter your name and bind your credit card.

After completing the credit card binding, use the TIER official app to scan the QR Code on the bicycle body to unlock the bicycle. When you see the time at the top of the screen starts counting, it means the rental is successful.

Pull out the car lock and align the lock hole to the red frame position to complete the unlocking.

Take a bike-sharing bike ride around Marienplatz in Munich and admire the magnificent Gothic-style buildings.

New Town Hall Neues Rathaus

Altes Rathaus Munich Old Town Hall

Church of Our Lady - Frauenkirche

After riding the bike, park the bike at the designated parking spot, open the TIER official app, and click the "End ride" button to end the rental.

I rode for a total of 62 minutes, and the cost was € 16.70. The information is provided for readers' reference!
